What Teen Patti Is

Teen Patti means "three cards" in Hindi. It is a comparing card game played between a dealer and any number of players seated at the table. Each player receives exactly three cards, and the winner is the one who holds the highest-ranked hand — or the last player left after everyone else has folded.

The game is extremely popular across Bangladesh and India because it is fast (a round takes about 90 seconds in the live version), the rules are simple enough to learn in one sitting, and the minimum bet is low enough for casual play. At joya33, the live version starts at ৳2 per hand.

How a Round Works

Before cards are dealt, every player places an ante (a forced starting bet). The dealer then deals three face-down cards to each player. From this point, each player decides whether to look at their cards (Seen) or keep them face-down (Blind).

A Blind player bets at the current stake. A Seen player must bet at least double the current stake. Players act in turn: call (match the current bet), raise (increase it), or fold (surrender their hand and ante). Play continues clockwise until only one player remains, or two players remain and one requests a show.

Betting Rounds Explained

Teen Patti does not have a fixed number of rounds — the hand keeps going until a winner is decided. Here is what happens at each decision point:

The Ante

Everyone posts the same starting amount. At joya33 Teen Patti 20-20, the minimum ante is ৳2 and the maximum is ৳20,000. The total pot grows with every bet placed after this.

Blind Play

A Blind player bets equal to or double the current stake without looking at their cards. This keeps their bet requirement low. The downside is they cannot make a show request until they look at their cards.

Seen Play

Once you look at your cards, you become a Seen player. Your minimum bet is now double the current stake. You also gain the right to request a show if only one other player is left.

Sideshow (Compromise)

A Seen player can ask the player immediately before them (if that player is also Seen) for a Sideshow. Both players privately compare hands. The player with the weaker hand must fold. The other player who was asked can refuse — the round then continues normally.

Show

When only two players remain, either player can pay a show fee to reveal both hands. The higher hand wins the entire pot. If both hands are equal, the player who did not request the show wins.
